I bought these as an item that had been returned to amazon and I very nearly returned them myself because they were uncomfortable when my 10 year old tried them on.

The lining can bunch up if its not taken out first, which is what makes them uncomfortable.

They held up beautifully - no wearing down of the soles, or cracks in any of the rubber outer (a common problem we have with other brands.

But when they did get wet (from a kid falling into a pond so water ran over the top), they were so easy to dry out with the removable insert.

they have removeable liners if you need to dry or wash.  they have drawstring tops to keep out snow in snowdrifts or deep snow tromps, they are like a rubber boot with grip and extra structure in the sole to keep your feet warm off the ground and dry all the way up, no water seeping in at ankle where fabric takes over on most boots.

That being said the kids say they still "feel really good and warm" and they're excited that they can take the insert out and use them as rain boots - they've never had rain boots before.

- The insert is great quality and if I add a nice pair of wool boot socks she should be all set.

The soles are still good and I even like how the shaft bends for movement.

My son loves to be outside and is very hard on all of his clothes — not only do these boots really LAST, they are ACTUALLY waterproof… Not just a suggestion like some others that I learned the hard way!

I would recommend these boots completely; tried and tested in real conditions.

They're still excited to wear them as rain boots.

I don't think I'll ever buy any other kind of boot.

The waterproof style to the top is awesome.

They’re one piece, solid rubber with no seams, so there’s nowhere for water to leak in.

They never got wet inside, even when walking through melting slush and puddles.

My kids feet are always dry in these unless they stepped in water on the floor in the change area at school and got wet feet.

Pros: - I LOVE that they are rubber all the way up - no way should they leak like the "waterproof" fabric ones ALWAYS do.

Not as roomy of a toe box as my other Whitin shoes.

but I was disappointed to see the toe box not be as wide as my other Whitin shoes.

I feel like being an athletic shoe, its toe box should be just as wide, if not wider, than my casual shoe.

The problem is, the finish is a little sloppy, with a crinkly finish on the left shoe by the ankle and a kind of pronounced dip on the right shoe where the molded toe box ends.


The shoe is far to tight and short thus eliminating the wide toe box.

Eight eyelets are too small impeding the lacing process.

The cloth eyelet on the shoe’s tongue is to wide providing insufficient room for laces.

If I were to guess, these shoes are approximately ¼ of an inch narrower in the toe.

It was only a little bit uncomfortable, But I'm concerned if I were to do a long hike or run, I'll end up with chafing or blisters on the top of my toes.

If I could use these shoes I would opt for a couple pair as I got through shoes quickly and most are extremely uncomfortable.

I also appreciate the flatter soles, which gives the shoe a more natural barefoot feel.

I tried on a few pairs of Danner work boots in local shops, and they all seemed to run a bit wide and long for their stated size.

It isn't wide enough up at the top of the boot.

The 9 was too short, a wider width did not matter.

I got a pain in the arch of my right foot after wearing this for a short while, I also irritated the little toe on my left foot.

It could have been perfect if it had better arch support,

but I suspect the fact that it's tapered is where the discomfort is coming in.

But, for the price I didn't bother with returning them, and I put in a heel pad and that helps.

SIZING: I usually buy UK size 10s for my walking shoes and tried these shoes on in size 10 with some walking socks and found them to be just a little too short.

Having worn them for a month I will definitely buy 1 size up if I buy again.

First of all you'll be scratching your head at what size do you get because it's not the size you are that you need!

Now I can tell you straight out of the box half a size up with a very thin sock felt absolutely bang on for me.

The only time on my first walk that they felt a tiny bit small was walking down very steep declines where all your weight is pushed to the front of the shoe and so my big toe was right up to the front.

I did have a couple of pairs where after the soles had worn the upper started to separate from the sole which was the final decision making point to change to a new pair.

I find that I can walk all day long in Merrell shoes I think that the footbed shape that Merrell use suits my foot shape.

LIFE: These Moab3 shoes have a different Vibram sole to the Moab 2s and perhaps because they are new they seem to be a little stiffer which I think is a good thing for a walking shoe.


I have bought my 3rd pair as the fit so well and the sole lasts longer than some other brands.

When put on you literally feel taller as I imagine this comes from the very comfortable vibram sole.

I bought a pair in Feb 23’ and July 23 and within a few months they both started to get holes on top.

While everything else fit well, my big toe was right at the end and I know it would be uncomfortable after a lot of walking.

The other thing is the laces are a pain to cinch up (whatever they are made of) and the tongue is uncomfortable.

I had to take out the liner inside and lace them further down due to the swelling in my feet from the plantar fasciosis.

The only thing I would say is get them a half to a full size bigger.

Too good to be true
I have been wearing vivobarefoot and other minimalist shoes for the last 10 years and recently found myself working in the medical field and needing something padded for standing on concrete all day

Ample padding (like standing on firm clouds) and the zero drop/foot shaped shoe that I am accustomed too.

When I previously tried some New Balance 880s, I LOVED the amount of cushion and support, so a blend of the two would be nice!

What attracted to me to these is that they are the shape of your foot.

They are comfortable and great for wider feet.

These shoes are noticeably better on my toes due to the purposefully larger toe box.

I have wide feet and the box toe style is wonderful for me.
