but it was actually the top loop of the shoe that holds the shoe string that ripped off.

I used them mostly for trail walking/hiking  on average about one or twice a week and after only 15 months, they have lost enough tread to make them troublesome/dangerous on some sandy, slippery trail hikes.

but I have found they also offer great arch support (I have high arches) and resist my foot's outward roll (supination) quite well.
