Run a bit small
I have to return due to running a bit small

I'm disappointed that I had to return one .

I'm disappointed that I had to return one pair after 1 month due to the leather seam above the heal coming apart from the cloth.

But I was not happy I had to pay for Return Shipping they wanted to charge me.

but I was charged for Shipping when I returned them not happy about that at all.

I thought I ordered a composite Toe as the Website was not very clear, it did not say it was and it did not say it was not.

but then I found out they were Plain Toe and not Composite Toe.

For the fact they were not composite Toes is the main  reason I send them back after a couple of Days.

So I had to send them back because they were to Narrow for a 12 2E I was thinking they would be more than wide enough.

Great boot overall
This is my fourth or fifth boot from thorogood.

Thorogood makes a great boot I have had several pairs and this pair is not the exception.

I've had Thorogood before and loved them, I don't expect anything less this time.

Uncomfortable metal piece
One of the metal loops where you lace the boots up is right even with the ankle bone and digs into the bone.

Unfortunately we had to return due to the ankle issue where they lace up so no info on durability.

I was not impressed on how it seems the zippers are not all that easy to zip up.

For some reason, the right bootlace kept coming untied, while the left one stayed tied just fine.

I do wish the side zip boot came in a brown.

The zipper is really tough and it takes a lot of effort to unzip without breaking the zipper.

The laces are a little slick, so they like to come untied and the zippers bind up on the material underneath.

Also, we read other reviews that said they ran small.

For some reason, the right boot rubs my leg at the top of the boot on the outer side of my leg, and also the right heel insole feels a little rough.

The inner liner at the heel has worn and ripped. This happened a few months ago (6 months of daily use.)

I love Thorogood boots and these imported boots do live up to the Thorogood name regarding Quality.

These boots are very comfortable and they look great.

The boots are really comfortable and durable and Waterproof.

I purchase 11.5 size with composite toe and like the build quality of the boot.

I like tactical, waterproof, and side zip boots.

I like that they have a larger than most pull strap on the back of the boots, and it makes it a lot easier to grasp onto.

I like the Velcro closure over the zipper is longer than most boots I've ever worn.

After a break-in period, I believe that these boots will be fine and will accept a nicer cushioned insert.

Other than that, he said the actual fit of the shoe was comfortable and they seemed to have good tread on the soles.

So far they're very comfortable and I would recommend them.

I wear them 12 to 14 hours a day and they are comfortable the whole time.

Very comfortable
After wearing Thorogood wedged safety boots, I thought id never find a boot as comfortable.

They're as comfortable, if not more comfortable than the previous Thorogood boots I owned.

These boots are constructed in a way that almost has a basketball shoe liner!

It's thickness rises high enough on the inside,  especially around the ankke where you get no slippage and great support 👏 👍🏻 I'll try another pair from Georgia Boots!

The only gripe I have is the weird lace catches up to the eyelet on the top.

Unless you have massive tree trunk legs and kankles or keep them untied you will have a lot of bunched up leather around your leg.

Wrong way #1 I found was to tuck it flat to the side of my ankle and laced up the boots.

I have narrow feet and the steel toe is tight against the side of my big toes and slightly behind.

I am writing this review to hopefully help people in the future who are looking to buy these boots and have read or will read some of the negative reviews about the tongue and how it makes the boot very uncomfortable.

I am here to tell you that yes, it can be very uncomfortable, unbearable even, if you don’t fold the tongue properly.

It was painful, too much material in the ankle area.

Main issue was for 6-8 months wearing these boots 10hrs a day, the right side of my lower back, hips and legs slowly started to hurt until I could barley walk.

The material bunches up and digs into your ankle when you walk.

For sizing I’d say going down half a size from your true to size.

I had to return my true to size sizing because the Boots just felt too big (heel was rising) and I was also almost tripping over things I usually wouldn’t.

I will buy the thorogood 1957s again and again.

but the quality impressed me enough to not scare me away from Thorogood boots.

These boots are comfortable and I expect them to last 2-3 years before needing a re-sole or anything with my average use.

TONGUE ISSUE GOES AWAY
This is a great work boot.

I wore the boots hard for the first week to break them in and once the leather softens up there is no more issue with the tongue of the boot.

This is my first pair and you can tell it is a very well made boot.

My husband loves these boots and was able to wear them for hunting right away they fit so well!

They’re a great work boot with a good feel and comfort.

Although I was very close to doing this, I could bring myself to do it to boots of this quality.

Item says size 8 men - size 7 women - on product size 8 men = size 10 women
I am sad that these are way too big, I wear a women's 8.5 and as headline it stated size 7 women = size men 8, so with the reviews saying they ran small, I was confident that a size 8 men's would be a good fit since they are a boot.

The only downfall I can see to this mood is that it runs small in size.

Had some separation along the seam between the sole area and the sides.

I return them because of this and ordered 13 wide.

but if the craftsmanship holds up, as I’m hard on boots, I’ll be purchasing more from Thorogood.

Boots were very warm and waterproof, and fit like a glove all along.

I’ve owned many pair of boot, from the cheapest at Wally world to big name-high dollar and must say these are the most comfortable boots I’ve worn.

I never thought I’d find a more comfortable work boot than my other Thorogood 804-3800s,

I tried on a few pairs of Danner work boots in local shops, and they all seemed to run a bit wide and long for their stated size.

It isn't wide enough up at the top of the boot.

The 9 was too short, a wider width did not matter.

but they let me down didn’t even last a month worn inside heel area and over toes why are these so bad ?its to bad I wanted to wear these for a long time too bad

I would say if you want something that is going to be worn day in and day out go for the workman not these.

Uncomfortably tight, and I can't wear it like that.

It took me about a week of daily wear to get them broken in

I had to throw out the shoe inserts and buy new ones to make them more comfortable which adds another $20 to the price tag!

Try it on in a store, if it doesn't feel great walking around for 15 minutes or so then DON'T BUY IT.

If you buy these for fashion, be aware they are very stiff and somewhat clunky, even after the break-in period.

Once my foot is in the boot they are quite happy.

There are many good brands of boots out there, and they all fit different shapes of feet.

Once they are broken in, you will never need another pair of boots.

If you want American made tough boots, these are it.

I think it gives the boots some character.

I can fit thick wool socks into the 9.5 without a problem.
