OK - I knew that going in: Other Timberland boots are labeled as such, and these are not.

NOTE TO TIMBERLINE:  The upper hooks could be a bit larger as the laces are barely covered by the hook.

This results in the lace popping out of the hook unless tension is provided at the perfect angle when tying.

Good boots
After I bought my first pair of Timberland Pro 50506 boots years ago I haven't had a reason to go look at other brands since.

I walk in them all day at work and my feet don’t hurt.

The soles have not worn excessively even with a lot of walking on concrete, asphalt or gravel.

Best work boot around, on my 3rd pair, each lasting me 18 months,  working in construction 12 hour days , they hold up to everything I deal with daily, about to order another pair just because.

Comfortable
Comfortable boots that don’t bother my feet.

Most comfortable rugged work boot for extreme conditions.

Compared to other boots I have owned recently, these earn a high rating for durability.

The lace-to-toe feature seems to add to that stability by securing the boot at the ball of my foot to minimize slippage front to back.

Overall I would recommend these boots based on durability, fit and value and would definitely by another pair.

Not needing replacement now (and no longer needing this type of boot) I'll continue to use these for multiple uses as they are versatile enough for many applications.

I'm still keeping these my go to boots for work though.

They are out of the box comfortable and need very little break in.

My recall is that the fit was quite well right out of the box.

Once they're properly tied it is a secure fit.

Cheaper laces than before / Odd sizing
I bought these for a second time, 1 year later, which is about how long mine lasted before splitting near the front.

But anyways, what really irks me is that my new ones have significantly cheaper laces.

I hate this, because the laces don't hold the shape I want while tying, which means manually holding the laces that much more while I tie, as opposed to some of the work being offset by thicker laces getting snug on the eyelets.

So they clearly cheapened out on the laces.

SR Max should consider upgrading the laces before selling and stitching the soles in addition to gluing and we'd have a true winner. P.S.

Honestly, I am upset about the laces being downgraded from my pair a year ago.

If they could do one thing better it would be to use real stitching all the way around the sole instead of just glue.

But bear in mind, Timberland does not make the non-slip soles for these boots.

The lack of a stitching on the sole could be SR Max's decision.

I don't know why more of the big name brands don't issue shoes with proper non-slip soles (like SR Max soles).

but they are not comfortable at all; no foam or padding inside).

Second thing worth mentioning, is that the sizing is definitely a bit odd.

And they don't really want middle-of-the-road brands like Skechers either (whose nonslip is subpar compared to SR Max, and actually, I slipped a few times wearing modern Skechers; old ones were decent).

This Timberland Pro + SR Max is the closest thing you can get to name brand + true non slip.

Use these boots for motorcycle riding, they are great and comfortable for riding and walking around.

My job requires me to do a lot of walking and the confort I get out of wearing these boot are great.

These boot are comfortable and great for me.

These keep my feet comfortable and protected.

It is not heavy to wear, has a good grip and will not slip even when you are not careful and very good when you are in a hurry.
