but what threw me for a loop was how cramped my feet felt up and down (as if the soles were too thick).

You DEFINITELY have to wear thin dress socks with these shoes, even medium thickness socks make your foot feel cramped and uncomfortable as if it has a weight on the top, or is being crushed.

The soles are very comfortable, and even after wearing them for a long time, and walking/standing a lot I was not as fatigued as with other dress shoes.

That being said, I wore them all day, with the thinnest dress socks I have, and my feet didn't hurt, and I'd say I was less fatigued from the comfort of the soles, so it's kinda a tradeoff.

They were plenty wide too, so they perfectly housed the splayed bones that my tired ligaments could not hold together after years of bad eating habits and gravity did to them.

What little radiant heat my tired heart could pump into the most distant regions of my legs was reflected perfectly back.

They're warm and soft, easy to slip in and out of and have heavy enough soles that I can wear them for a quick trip to the car or the mailbox.

The padding helps keep your foot in it's place (no sliding to the front) and it also helps to reduce discomfort when you have flat feet/plantar fascitis.

First, the rubber is so soft that I actually had a bone from a wild animal poke up through the shoe and poke my foot while I was walking my dog, weird, I know.


The arch support initially felt too high and uncomfortable

I returned these…I loved my Original Oofos sandal - altho it isn’t the most attractive, it was very comfortable, and I wore it daily for more than 4 years.
