but I’d like to note that the sole is very narrow compared to the outside width of the shoe.

But that’s just personal preference (due to the narrow sole) and has nothing to do with quality.

I Found My Perfect Slipper I wear a size 9 and I ordered a size 9.

Not for high arch, boots not same size I ordered a size smaller because many of the reviews said these run big, even with socks.

The heel points slightly forward anyway so I felt that if I ordered an 8 that it would be too short and tight with the shearling insole and rub my heel.

but with thin socks they were squeezing my feet across the top of the foot and the right boot felt tighter.

but I removed the Roper insole and added my Ugg shearling insert in ( size 9) and put on a pair of light weight cable knee socks and they fit perfect.

but I like having a wool shearling insert in my boots, year round.

I also tried these on with the Shearling insole and a pair of cotton ragg socks that are thicker than my Merino cable knee highs and they fit well too

Beautiful, well-designed, cold- and water-proof boots - size up I recently moved, and my new city has extremely cold winters with very heavy snow/blizzards.

I also looked at the LL Bean boots, a pair from Land's End, and a few from Merrill.

If I had been able to find the black Joan of Arctic boots I prob would have bought those because I felt like the Joan boots were a bit more trendy-looking.

I am really glad I ended up with these boots, because that extra height really helps keep my legs warm.

I chose these boots because they were rated down to -30, and that's a pretty accurate assessment.

The downside to this - and one of the downsides to this boot - is that they do get warm indoors.

With a pair of lightweight socks on, I can feel the sides of the boot.

These boots are high, and they definitely look like winter boots.

The details really suggest a company that is incredibly familiar with how to make good boots for really cold weather.

These boots are perfect for college students in cold climates in the US (lots of walking).

I wore this boot all day with no discomfort.

I didn't notice any discomfort from that on my shins and my legs stayed warm.

I am not sliding outside, my feet stay warm, and the fit is right.

The boot is light for a winter boot, the lining is warm and cozy, and the drawstring at the top will be helpful when the toronto snow comes.

I sometimes have to walk long distances outdoors for work, so I needed something that was also incredibly warm for our many days of subzero temperatures.

I noticed that after wearing the boot a few times it shaped to my foot and became easier to slide on.

I got these on a pretty good spring snow storm day here in New England and unboxed them and wore them right away to be outside.

I've worn them in 1-2" deep puddles of water, and they haven't leaked at all.
