The soles are thinner than I prefer (Worry about durability).

My feet are not crazy about the texture of the surface of the sole pad.

The only issue I had as soon as I put them on - the sole didn’t feel comfortable because of the anti slip mini square pattern (probably to prevent sliding foot when sweaty) or maybe the soles of my feet are way too sensitive.

The straps are narrower and have a coarser feel than my previous sandals.

Columbia Women's Sandal Sport

My feet are on the regular/narrow side so if you have wide feet these might not be for you because the straps at the toes don’t adjust.

These were amazingly comfortable right out of the box.

The second time I wore them the cushioning is much more stable and while still a bit unstable was feeling better and that it might be comfortable as the shoe adapts to my particular foot.

By the third time I can feel the great arch and foot support of a normal columbia shoe that I am used to so while no real "break in time was required" the oddness will go away with use.

Unfortunately it is true that they are now narrower.

I order full size larger than normal and they are still narrow and tight to my feet.

The only reason why I wouldn’t consider these shoes great in comfort is the toe box was too narrow for my toes, which are longer than normal toes.

Then my pinky toe would be bruised and bent to awkward angles.

My Cascadias, which also rank great in weight, weighing a bit less than the H2s, are just plain uncomfortable to hike in.

But the 1 problem I have with them and I had to knock off a star because of this is the heel strap.

There isn't quite enough slack in the heel to get these on/off easily.

They are perfect water shoes for kayaking or rafting as well!

Boot’s weight and distribution of force make it so I don’t have to really engage my feet when I hike, I just need to put my foot down.

HOWEVER, the H2s have greater flexibility and a sleeker frame that allows me to stick my foot in holds and hop on uneven boulders that I wouldn’t be able to do with boots.

Compared to nearly happening every three hikes with boots, this is definitely a plus.

I have worn this model of Keen sandals for years and in fact, wear them probably more than any other shoes.

Having worn out my old pairs I bought three new pairs -  ALL ARE MUCH NARROWER!!!

I have worn them all weekend and they gave me no problems walking or going up and down stairs.

Unlike plush, which wears and becomes a blister-friendly area, straps don’t wear down, and can be better adjusted when my feet are swollen.

I ordered a UK 12.5 wide and recieved a 12.5 regular.

but these say 12.5 R. Looking at other reviews it seems Sebago no longer offer a wide fitting.

However these were listed as wide fitting.

They appear to have made the regular size a little wider

but if you need the wide fit you will be disappointed.

but as the sole itself is narrower than the the old wide fit I don’t hold up much hope.☹️

but my width was out of stock everywhere.

It's not cheap (but not really that expensive either) - and finding the WW in a slightly out of the way size like 7.5 could be tricky (although it seems that it can always be bought at the Sebago website for full price) -

First of all, the interior of the shoe is a fabric rather than leather or at least fake leather.

The quality of the sole and upper leather are lacking.

Real leather needs to break in and conform to your feet.

The bottom line is that if you like the comfort of a boat shoe and have super wide feet like me, this seems to be your only choice.

Decent boating shoes
These are pretty good boat shoes.

Dosent mark decks, is comfortable and looks non-dorky.

But once they do, they will last and last and last and be the most comfortable pair of shoes you own.

They are also pretty comfortable when worn with socks.

Long lasting quality boat shoe
I basically live in my boat shoes in the summer.

The attribute that most attracted me to this shoe was the super wide sole - wider than any shoe of this boat type that I could find when I was looking for a shoe (which I only had to look for as my old shoe was no longer made) - which for a man like me is important as my foot likes to spread out.

Great shoe for kayaking, swimming, or just swimming in the river.

Water drains well out of them and lightweight yet durable.

The main & most obvious difference is the smell, as soon as you open the box you'll be hit in the face with a strong rubber smell like a cheap bicycle inner-tube purchased at Walmart; and this smell isn't easy to get rid of.

These (Burly Classic) are a plain rubber boot, which is fine.

Still Going Strong
I've had the same pair boots for 13 years now and they are still going strong.

Given the durability and longevity I would definitely recommend these boots.

I highly recommend these as great winter work boots.

I tuck my pant legs into them and I'm warm and dry.

The traction is solid on my steep driveway and they are quite comfortable.

but stays comfortable even in warm temperatures.
