After ordering 3 pairs before I got the "right size" - I ended up ordering 1 full size smaller than I normally wear and then the shoe is not that comfortable.

The wide toe boot does not squeeze my swollen foot and I am able to tolerate the shoes for walking.

Since I got her these shoes she has been able to walk more.

The construction inside is sturdy, stitched for cushioning and mildly soft, a must for the swollen foot.

I bought them a half size larger because of the swollen foot and I am glad that I did.

The Velcro top make it easy to take off and put on and to adjust for swollen feet.

Worn with a sock, the shoe is not too big for the foot that is not swollen and the extra half size eases the pain in the foot that is swollen.

They were the only shoes this large I could find for my husband, who could barely walk because his feet were so swollen, so when they fit enough for him to at least have some shoes, he was grateful for them.

Plenty of room for his swollen feet; adjustable throughout the day due to the Velcro strap.

but on the feeble side or is prone to slip or fall, these might not be the best option.

My only 2 complaints are first that you should either buy them a half to whole size too small to get proper compressive tight fit, or wear thick socks with them.

However, I think they would have been true to size if I'd ordered an 8.

I'm wheelchair bound and unable to walk, so these are a godsend for my mildly neuropathic feet.

The Velcro holds firm and the fabric flexes as you walk.

Perfect if yu get swollen feet from time to time.

As it stands, the toe box and shoe itself are nice and wide to accommodate wide, swollen feet.

Final analysis:  After trying a couple other brands of diabetic shoes that are much less comfortable, these have become my go-to shoes for the day.

I've really enjoyed these shoes for their snug fit.

The material is very breathable, so wearing socks with them is comfortable, as is barefoot.

The insoles are comfortable with a little support.

Given that they are designed to fit loosely, I'd say they are true to size if you have a preference for thick socks.

The good Lightweight Velcro - no strings to tie or break Decent overall construction Open wide open, which makes them extremely easy to put on and take off Loose fitting - no pressure points on feet or toes.

The leather-like upper is a nice touch and the velcro openings are a boon to people whose fit swell and press against the top of the shoe.

The only thing I don't care for with neoprene is the accumulation of moisture or sweat on my feet.

I wear a size 8.5 shoe & felt they were a bit snug for gentle yoga & pilates reformer.

I wear a size 8.5 shoe and find the L is too snug so I wear a XL.

They are very light weight, I wear them over thin cotton dress socks.
