I have to pull the boot on to sink my heel in and when I walk there is still a bit of room in the toe and some heel slip.

I’m usually a size 11 in shoes, with work boots you go have a size smaller, with leather western boots you go a full size smaller, that’s why I went with size 10, I figured since I had never went with such a decreased size I choose 10 wide to be safe because I never naught leather western boots, how ever they were too wide, my heal lifted out of the heal of boot when walking.

Short review: if you have wide feet, and are a man, buy one size up from the recommended size.

I can only presume they have narrow feet or are women buying the men's style shoe, given that even women with wide feet will have narrower feet than men with wide feet. I've worn the boot too long to return them, in a vain attempt to "break them in."

This is why I suggest for wide feet people, break the Docs in WITHOUT THE GEL INSERT first, and then when the heel starts to move put the gel insert in so the tongue is already broken in and does not press down hard on your foot.

I went with the advice on Doc Marten's own website and the Amazon sizing guide, and bought a UK 8 which is the equivalent to a US 9 Medium.

but the zippers broke after about 5 months, the soles cracked and needed reglueing after about a year, and the hard leather began to get holes where it creased the most after less than 8 months.

Even if sitting on a chair, flex your feet every which way inside the boots, or get up and boogie for an hour each evening!

Fit great, until the heel as noted above broke in and the leather around there started rubbing up and down.

I wear a UK size 7/EU 41 and the Dr Martens size 7 is perfect for wearing with medium thickness hiking socks.

When I put them on, they felt WAY too tight across the instep, and I figured this "unisex" sizing was not right for a size 9 "D" width in Mens.

I then slipped my foot into the boot, and with the laces all the way undone, I could wedge my finger in there and make sure I could "unroll" that piece of leather to lay flat on my instep.

It takes 3 min to lace them up, and almost 2 min to get them off,

For reference, I’m a man with a U.S. shoe size of about 9, and the Jadon size 9 in men’s are too tight.

There is also a small flap of leather that extends from the stitching inside of the boot, which WILL curl when you put your foot in, and feel like you have a pencil across the top of your foot.

Motorcycle Duribility I ride a motocycle year 'round and these shoes held up pretty well for that for about a year and a half of almost constant wear, at that point i began to notice that the tread was wearing down.

I also put a little oil paste on my fingers and massaged it into that stiff leather flap that was curling on top of my foot, from the inside of the boot.

After I took them off, I felt inside and found that the softened leather of that flap had become a bit more rigid,

I don't think this would have fixed that problem, unless I had flattened out that seam from the inside.

The lining and supple arcadia leather make the very comfortable around your feet and oxblood red is very cool looking.

They had the side benefit of being very comfortable, and beyond that feeling very good, like you really don't even want to take them off.

Doc Martens are also VERY comfortable once broken in.

but now, more like thick soft warm socks (with soles on the bottom, lol) that just caress your feet as you slide them inside.

This is what made these boots unbearable to wear for more than 5 minutes.

In the military, I broke in my boots by wearing them wet, and they broke in pretty quick.

The tongue part is a bit stiff and rubs a little.

One word of warning to anyone who is buying them for the first time - there is a heavily stitched seam that run across the top of the foot at the bottom of the tongue: it is very stiff on the new boots, and you really must break them in and soften up that seam before wearing them out and about.

If there is the tiniest bit of moisture on the ground, when i put me feet down at stop lights and such, i'm slipping and losing my grip on the ground because the bottoms of the shoes have just become too smooth. i've never truly slipped and dropped the bike and everything (how embarrassing would that be!)
