Uncomfortable metal piece
One of the metal loops where you lace the boots up is right even with the ankle bone and digs into the bone.

Unfortunately we had to return due to the ankle issue where they lace up so no info on durability.

I was not impressed on how it seems the zippers are not all that easy to zip up.

For some reason, the right bootlace kept coming untied, while the left one stayed tied just fine.

I do wish the side zip boot came in a brown.

The zipper is really tough and it takes a lot of effort to unzip without breaking the zipper.

The laces are a little slick, so they like to come untied and the zippers bind up on the material underneath.

For some reason, the right boot rubs my leg at the top of the boot on the outer side of my leg, and also the right heel insole feels a little rough.

The inner liner at the heel has worn and ripped. This happened a few months ago (6 months of daily use.)

The boots are really comfortable and durable and Waterproof.

I love Thorogood boots and these imported boots do live up to the Thorogood name regarding Quality.

I purchase 11.5 size with composite toe and like the build quality of the boot.

I like that they have a larger than most pull strap on the back of the boots, and it makes it a lot easier to grasp onto.

I like the Velcro closure over the zipper is longer than most boots I've ever worn.

After a break-in period, I believe that these boots will be fine and will accept a nicer cushioned insert.

Other than that, he said the actual fit of the shoe was comfortable and they seemed to have good tread on the soles.

So far they're very comfortable and I would recommend them.

These boots are very comfortable and they look great.

I wear them 12 to 14 hours a day and they are comfortable the whole time.

The leather was a bit stiff out of the box so i have been breaking them in daily.

but the leather is stiff and one would do themselves a service breaking these in gradually over a few days.

I have short wide feet and the toe box on these is feels noticably longer and narrower than their plain toe options.

In these i bought an 8 wide and they are definitely longer and narrower.

Also the lining has a seam that runs up the back of of the uppers where your heel rubs.

however I'm concerned that that seam will fail under the constant rubbing of the heel as there is no internal counter cover to protect it.

though they might be a bit overpriced compared to other options.

Extremely comfortable from the day he first put them on, and the waterproofing is great.

Have waded streams and they seem fully waterproof.

because they are tighter to get on, there is not as much tongue leather to have to fold up (remember they are waterproof so the tongue leather goes up high) when tying, so that seems to be nice.

Day one putting them on you immediately feel that thick waterproof lining.

That lining seems to be very effective at keeping water out

assuming they last a long time i will be buying more Thorogood boots in the future.

This is another good solid Thorogood boot.

I'm comparing them with my first pair of Thorogood American Heritage wedge soles (see picture) Over all i think you are getting good quality materials and sturdy construction

but they will outlast most if not all other brands off boots.

While advertised as hunting boots, they'll work great in snow as well.

Boots arrived and were obviously high quality and well made.

These seemed to be the way to go as i had a good experience with their unlined wedge sole boots.

But as a Fall/winter work boot they work great.

However with some time breaking them in and adjusting my lacing pattern that problem has largely disappeared and they are much more comfortable now.

These boots do feel as though they could be a half size smaller, I usually wear a size 12 boot and that is what I ordered

I'm sure just wearing a thicker pair of socks will help address this issue.

I recommend buying a full size smaller than your foot actually measures, as these boots are made with fairly spacious/tall interiors, which gave my heel a whole lot of lift and made the boots rather awkward to wear, initially.

This problem was exacerbated when the boot wore in.

The first week was awful (I didn't bring any other shoes so was forced to wear them day after torturous day).

but my feet do slip just a small bit inside the boot while walking.

THE BAD: The biggest complaint I have about these boots is that the online size chart is garbage.

but the first boot I ordered in that size was way too large.

I returned the boot for a smaller size (10.5) free of charge, thanks to Amazon's excellent policy, and that boot was again too large.

The  tongue of the boots are not leather.

For the price of these boots they should have used leather for the tongue of these boots.

When I first got these boots, I took them on a two week trip - they seemed comfortable enough for a lot of walking, and waterproof.

Thorogood has been known to pump out some very nice products over the years.

Thorogood has such high enough standard that it is the boot of choice at my station.

Day one, these boots straight out of the box are already impressive.

The aesthetic look that these boots have far surpasses that of most any other boot out there with the spit shined toe and heal caps that give it that nice parade shine to show off on foot patrols or around the station

Immediately I put on my 5.11s with these boots to see how the bottom of the pant legs would fall on the top of the boot, as expected they fall around the ankle area without bunching up.

Next came the soul test where I took some heavy duty shipping boxes and proceeded to flatten them with my feet. The stiffness of the new boots helped a little I'm sure

This is my first pair of boots that have a side zip and so far the side zip is already feeling like a gift from above.

The amount of time and effort just simply zipping up the boot is amazing. The first time I put on and took off these boots I actually stopped and said, "Wow, that was easy."

The zipper allows you to bypass the always annoying lacing and unlacing that comes with the territory of an eight inch boot.

After a 7-7 shift you'll feel so relieved to just unzip, slip these boots off and roll into bed.

although all the hardware on this boot is rustproof which to me sounds pretty promising.

I've tried different types of boots over the years and this WAS by far the most comfortable.

They WERE light and comfortable from day 1.

They HAD no side or heel padding on the inside, which MADE them more comfortable and longer lasting compared to boots that have padding.

They are also fairly comfortable to hike, climb, and even run in.

But then miraculously, after a week, they suddenly became very comfortable!

They also seem pretty good at keeping my feet dry and warm in foul weather.

but the soul it self felt very good on my feet while the boxes just imploded, you can really feel the thickness of the soul giving you that "I'm gonna totally be able to go curb stomp some one with these."

It's been maybe six months and the sole is already cracking,

The only thing I would change is the padding between the edges of the steel toe and the inside of the boot, as the inside corner on each boot occasionally poked my big toe.

IMPORTANT: Because these are American made they run small in their sizing compared to every asian made shoe I have ever put on my foot.

I use these at work and they ate slip resistant,  fit well, and are comfortable

They seem to be pretty water proof, no issues there.

I've tromped thru mud, stood in water, and trekked through snow and they've yet to disappoint me.

This boot is just about perfect
I grabbed myself a pair of Thorogood boots at the very beginning of my electrical apprenticeship, and these were the ones I chose, since they were relatively inexpensive and looked quite nice.

And I still get better prices from Amazon than I can from my local retailers of Thorogood boots.

Decent traction, warm enough for northeastern winters with good socks.

Really comfortable for a steel toe
I generally despise steel toe boots, and had never actually heard of this model.

The sole is very grippy even on wet or oily concrete, the footbed is supportive and comfortable, and they keep your feet warm

They took a mere two days to break in, and they are getting more comfortable as time goes on.

I've worn these boots for three weeks now and love them.

I'm 72 years old and they are one of the best pairs of boots I've ever worn.

However, that can be expected on a quality tread such as these boots have.

I still give these boots a full five star rating and would rate them higher if I could!

This is a solid boot that looks great.

These boots had lasted quite some time now and they’re holding up compared to my other boots that feel apart after 3 months.

I usually go with the wider size for a More comfortable fit..very happy thank you ! !

Footbed is comfortable and I wear these at work everyday.
