I personally like how tight the fit is in the calf area- other boots are so wide at the top and it ends up being a funnel for the water.

Water comes at me from all directions at work so having that close fit on the top of the boot is very helpful.

Tyson C are easy to take on and off, provide a moderate level of insulation, and are waterproof within the limitations of this style of boot.

Insulated enough to keep your feet warm on cold Chicago days.

Slipping happens more than I would like for a winter boot tread.

I also added a gel insole as the foot bed felt pretty thin under the ball of my foot.

Tried it for a day that was freezing and almost slipped because the soles hardened and couldn't grip the flat surface.

Compacted snow sticks to the rubber soles causing it to lose the grip.

Needs a way to lock the laces half way up like hiking boots.

After one week started noticing that the tread was wearing out fast and the seams started to part.

The Kamik boots are $30-$40 cheaper than any comparable Merrell winter waterproof boot.

They are very well insulated and the feel is good when tromping through thick snow.


Kamik brands made from Canada are best for extreme winters.
