I ended up replacing the laces after 2 weeks

Would be nice if they had the hooks to make it easier and faster to lace up.

but I wouldn't be particularly confident if the water level reached up to the laces.

Though I haven't had much opportunity yet to tell how then shoe will feel in my day to day use of it, I can already tell that reviews that said the shoe runs large weren't accurate to my experience.

My shoe size can go between an 11w and 12w depending on the brand, so under the assumption that these would run on the large side I went with 11.5w and find that it's just barely a fit, would have probably been more comfortable in a 12w.
