I have to return due to running a bit small

I'm disappointed that I had to return one .

I'm disappointed that I had to return one pair after 1 month due to the leather seam above the heal coming apart from the cloth.

But I was not happy I had to pay for Return Shipping they wanted to charge me.

but I was charged for Shipping when I returned them not happy about that at all.

I thought I ordered a composite Toe as the Website was not very clear, it did not say it was and it did not say it was not.

but then I found out they were Plain Toe and not Composite Toe.

For the fact they were not composite Toes is the main  reason I send them back after a couple of Days.

So I had to send them back because they were to Narrow for a 12 2E I was thinking they would be more than wide enough.

Bottom Line Is I am still looking for my Boot for work in a similar style because overall I really like this boot style.

I ordered a pair of these boots, then read the reviews.

Thorogood makes a great boot I have had several pairs and this pair is not the exception.

Out of the box and first fit went real well, boots do appear to be a warm fit,

they don't look like big boats on my feet like most work boots do,they are the most comfortable work boots that I have worn in the 19yrs I have been underground in the mines, and they definitely fit true to size!

I wear a 7.5 ,but because of the composite toe I figured I'd go with a 7.5 wide and they actually fit perfectly!

After they were broken in they became great boots.

These boots have saved my friend's feet just like they did for me.

Most composite toe boots I’ve gotten have been bulky and heavy so these are a nice change.

So far I am VERY pleased with the comfort of these boots.

They are light and comfortable and you can't really even tell they are a safety shoe.

but not tennis) Clown toe section past the thick rubber cracks Stitching came loose after 2years Inner lining not forgiving with rigid insoles The boots fit right where you expect for size and as I have a hard corrective insole I went a 1/2 size up and they fit just right.

However and maybe this is more fault to my insole than to this boot, after a year the inside lining started to wear away and I had to gorilla tape contact points to reduce the wear.

However with weatherproofing comes humidity and funk and these boots do make your feet sweat so I had to switch to white socks (not sure why black makes it worse) and regularly scent bombing the boot.

However, passing the 2+ year mark the damage from regular wear and tear has caught up with this boot in the worse way and outlines its weakest links.

Long story short, the fit of these boots runs very small overall, so I ordered an 11-1/2 2E instead of an 11 2E.

This concerned me so much that I almost shipped these boots back to G & L Clothing.

I work 10 hour days six days per week in these boots, so anything that could cause pain would be magnified by the swelling in my feet as those long days progress.

While walking in these boots, the met guards seem to be rubbing on the leather of the tongue of the boots and it creaks very loudly with every step.

When I went to the Redwing store, the prices sent me into shock. When I mentioned the ultra high price being an issue, the salesman said "But these are Cadillac boots."

Those supposed Cadillac boots offered almost no ankle support BTW.

although 3 stiches wide has begun to pull out where it meets the rubber and that clown boot section of rubber/plastic material (not the toe thick part, the thinner black material) is cracked and full of puncture holes from incidental use and from crouching over time.

but have a large negative when used outside of that perfect window (damage causes total failure).

I had to completely remove the factory insole and replace it with antifatigue insoles and Dr. Scholl's arch support insoles.

But for first 2 years or so no complaints with leaky soles or seams until the issues outlined below.

I work in a very noisy environment, so that isn't much of an issue to me except that it does seem to wake my wife up in the morning when I am walking around getting ready for work.

LOVE THESE BOOTS
I have worn these boots for one week at work now and I feel somewhat qualified to leave at least a preliminary bit of feedback.

This provides my very tender feet and more importantly ankles with vastly more support than I am used to receiving from a pair of work boots.

Now back to the narrow fit being a good thing as I stated earlier.

The ankle support is nothing short of astonishing.

These Keens offer so much foot and ankle support that I am able to work all day on my feet and not suffer nearly as much as I did before.

I’m on my feet all day and these are nice and comfortable to the soles of my feet.

My feet dont get sore after working on a concrete floor for 12 hours, so that's a huge plus.

sole is falling off
Purchased these March 31st 2023.

In a few months my husband had to glue one of the soles.

Now it's been a little over 6 months and the same sole is peeling off in sections.


Update: June 8 2023 The soles are starting to separate.

Blows my mind that the soul has separated from both boots in only 4 months.

Within three months I have worn through the heel of the sole and in six months completely trashed the insoles comfort cushion.

but I would feel much better about a better outside soul and inside soul the longevity is crap other than that my boots look practically brand new granted I take care of them oil them very often looking at the boot while it is on my feet looks amazing and still feels amazing but the inner and outer soles are garbage I haven't done much research to find out whether or not I can have them resoled but for this boot cost I would assume it would last a lot longer very unhappy with the longevity of insoles and the under boot tread for having a for all the benefits of the design of this tread being slip proof electrical proof and bothresilient to both extremely hot temps and extreme low temps this tread did not last long enough to believe that it can protect from all those things granite I work in construction I'm not on my knees dragging the front of the boot around or seriously abusing the boot from the wear and tear of construction I do inspections and most of the time I drive around in my vehicle so for the minimal abuse I feel that the tread was not up to par and I have a hard time trusting that it was and will protect you as explain by the manufacturer.

but stick with it I promise two weeks later they will feel like slippers, but it's a painful process and based on talking with many other contractors in the same boat, we all seem to have the same results.

Good Boot for the job
The boot wears well, my job requires good sturdy, dependable, and comfortable work boots.

however, the fit and comfort of these work boots is extremely good.

Ordered a size 9 wide and the fit is great.

Best boots I have ever worn.

Over the past 8 years I have almost exclusively worn these boots except for literally, a few days a year in sneakers or muck boots.

All except 1 guy out of 6 who work for/with me wear these boots as well and all of them say they won't buy a different boot.

though they would last quite a while beyond the year mark, I just like new boots.

They last longer than any other work boot I’ve used, and they are significantly more comfortable in the sole and around the ankle.

These boots have what you need to keep your feet warm and dry, you just have to do your part.

Comfortable from the first day, I've had for a year now and have held up well, I try to grease them up often as we get a lot of rain in SE Alaska warm enough for winter for the most part.

I have worn these work boots for seven days and so for not satisfied and also can’t get pants over tops of boots really large upper.

If I had to buy another pair of work boots it would not be these!!!

No break in time needed with these work boots.

He bought the size he normally wears, with regular width and they fit really well.

Be sure to have waterproofing spray if that's what you need and don't expect them to be bullet proof.

but are not fully waterproof like stated they are I have purchased 5 pair of them over the past few years and all 5 once broken in after a couple weeks they all have leaked up around the stitching on front of boot

These boots fit about 1 size snug, so I definitely recommend buying the next size up from your regular size.

They fit really well, very comy and durable.

My husband has spent weeks getting the proper fit to ease the pain of his bunion and finally, these boots in a half size larger than his usual, have given great relief now when walking.
